STARBUCKS COFFEE AUCTION

Hey everybody. Okay, so I know I've been lazy about doing more auction items, and that's totally my fault but I'm back now, hopefully better than ever.

Sweet Ashley, a manager of a Starbucks store, has donated 8 bags of whole bean Starbucks coffee up for auction, with ALL PROCEEDS GOING TO ANTON'S ADOPTION FUND!

Please see auction items (they are separated into four separate posts) below. Bid on one or all four! Bidding is starting at about 1/3 of retail value.

HAVE FUN!

(Thank you so so so much, Ashley. Sorry it's taken me so long!)

Starbucks Coffee ONE

Up for Bid:

2 one pound packages of Starbucks whole bean Coffee. Both Caffe Verona Blend.

Both bags: Caffe Verona Blend, Bold Flavor, Dark Cocoa, Roasty Sweet. Valued at $10.95.
(Maximum Freshness until: November 19, 2011)

From the website: Caffè Verona® is a seductive blend of beans from Latin America and Indonesia, with a gentle touch of Italian Roast lending depth, soul and sweetness. Because this delectable combination pairs so very well with chocolate, it has become a Valentine’s Day favorite – and the coffee we most associate with romance. Bella, Bella! P.S.: Literature lovers out there will recognize Verona as the city where Shakespeare set Romeo and Juliet. Although the play ends in tragedy, we’d like you to know that every cup of this coffee has a happy ending.

Please bid in the comments. Top comment should be the highest bid. Bidding will end Monday, August 8th at 10:00 pm. Any bids marked after 9:59pm will not be counted.

Bidding will start at $7.00.

Starbucks Coffee TWO

Up for Bid:

2 one pound packages of Starbucks whole bean Coffee. Both Komodo Dragon Blend.

Both bags: Komodo Dragon Blend, Bold Flavor, Herbal, Cedary Spice. Valued at $11.95.
(Maximum Freshness until: October 15, 2011 and November 26, 2011, respectively)

From the website:  Perhaps no creature is more remarkable than the world’s largest lizard: the Komodo dragon. Like that beast, this coffee is bold and surprisingly snappy. It was also, until recently, just as rare as that elusive and endangered animal. We first sold this blend by mail and online orders only. But it became such a customer favorite that we unleashed it within our stores as well. It’s an assertive combination of several Asia/Pacific coffees: part bright, biting acidity and part earthy, loamy smoothness.

Please bid in the comments. Top comment should be the highest bid. Bidding will end Monday, August 8th at 10:00 pm. Any bids marked after 9:59pm will not be counted.

Bidding will start at $8.00.

Starbucks Coffee THREE

Up for Bid:

2 one pound packages of Starbucks whole bean Coffee.

Bag 1: Italian Roast, X-Bold flavor, Sweet/Slightly Smoky,  Valued at $11.95.
(Maximum Freshness until: December 3, 2011)

From the website: This coffee gets its distinctive sweetness from the way it is roasted: dark, and darker still. Somewhere beyond the caramel notes of our Espresso Roast but short of the smokiness that identifies our French Roast – that is the sweet spot held by Italian Roast. What is created after the coffee cools is a sturdy and sweet blend, potent and intense.

Bag 2: Kenya, Bold Flavor, Juicy Acidity, Currant, Valued at $11.95.
(Maximum Freshness Until: November 12, 2011)
From the website: Awash with a full-bodied juiciness that makes it instantly recognizable to its many, many fans. These qualities are all true of our Kenya coffee. You can recognize Kenya through its tell-tale citrus flavors – grapefruit most often, but sometimes lemon and sometimes tart orange. There’s a sparkle to this coffee, a bright acidity, that makes it so refreshing to drink. In fact, it's a terrific iced coffee on a hot summer day.

Please bid in the comments. Top comment should be the highest bid. Bidding will end Monday, August 8th at 10:00 pm. Any bids marked after 9:59pm will not be counted.

Bidding will start at $8.00.

Starbucks Coffe FOUR

Up for Bid:

2 one pound packages of Starbucks whole bean Coffee.

Bag 1: Guatemala Antigua, Medium flavor, Subtle Cocoa, Soft Spice, Valued at $13.95.
(Maximum Freshness until: November 12, 2011)

From the website: These agricultural lands are famous for their passion and tradition, for exemplifying the best qualities of their respective beverages. This lush part of southern Guatemala is nestled among three volcanoes. The high altitude and loamy soil create conditions that are nearly ideal for coffee growers and coffee lovers alike.

And love this coffee we do. It’s an elegant affair: refined in its acidity, identified by the pedigree of its gentle spice flavors and subtle cocoa-like texture.
Bag 2: Guatemala Casi Cielo, Elegant, floral, satisfying cocoa finish
(Maximum Freshness until: July 23, 2011)
From the website: And while you’ve never had to go that far to experience this ineffably rich coffee, there was a time when you could only enjoy it in some of the country’s most exclusive restaurants. You see, we originally developed this coffee to be the ultimate “fine-dining” experience, working with the chefs at Seattle’s legendary Canlis restaurant. Together, we created a remarkable coffee with a depth and versatility perfect for a variety of gourmet entrees and desserts – particularly those with savory herbs or cheeses, rich chocolate or berries. For years, we limited this coffee to just a few, choice establishments. But the clamor for Guatemala Casi Cielo® was so relentless, and the coffee so good, that eventually we capitulated; we had to share it. So, for a short time every year, we make this culinary masterpiece available for your own special occasions at home – no reservations required. (I'm throwing this one in for free because technically it's past "for fresh roasted flavor, enjoy before" date, but it's never been opened. Valued originally at $12.95.)

Please bid in the comments. Top comment should be the highest bid. Bidding will end Monday, August 8th at 10:00 pm. Any bids marked after 9:59pm will not be counted.

Bidding will start at $4.50.
